Send us your favorite Shoemaker memories... maybe a goon award story or how you met your husband at a function... we'd love to hear from you!

Ok, I'll start! My favorite Shoemaker memory is when a bunch of us loaded up into Kate Schuman's parent's mini van. Right away, we lost the Purdue flag... was it an omen? NAH! We made the 17 hour trek to San Antonio for the Alamo Bowl. A bunch of us stayed at my friend Jason's room. 10 people in one room, but at least it was cheap. San Antonio was BEAUTIFUL! We hung out on the riverwalk and chanted back and forth with the Kansas State fans. Before the game, we found a bar where the Neon Cactus Piano Man was playing. We made up a fight song about Kansas State that went:
I love you... you love me... KSU looks like Barney... with a purple shirt and a great big purple hat... that's why you're a PUSSY CAT!
We even got to sing it on the local news. Those KSU fans were so cocky! Our seats were amazing, and the game winning touchdown was caught ten feet away from us. I remember looking at Jessi Lemming with tears streaming down my face, and I didn't feel like a geek because she was crying too! That was such a rush, such a high. We were all so giddy, we ran to the riverwalk to celebrate, and there was not one single KSU fan to be seen!
It was such a great trip, even getting stuck in Waynes...town...er, vill, er, well whatever, Missouri in a blizzard for two days was fun! We made wonderful memories and a TON of inside jokes. Between Dylan grabbing the rope, tarantula eyes, jumping jacks at gas pumps, The Texas T Pub (it's all about FUN!) and well... punches for donkeys, that four days in 1998/1999 were wonderful and something I will never forget!
